Your thyroid levels may be effecting your ability to lose weight.
If you’re frustrated with unexplained weight gain or have difficulty losing weight, you should consider an important cause…the thyroid. Our thyroid gland is a small, butterfly-shaped gland in your neck, just below your voice box. It’s a crucial component in your overall health because:
• it regulates your body’s metabolic processes
• it effects how quickly the body can use energy and make proteins
• it controls how the body reacts to other hormones
A wide range of problems can occur if the thyroid gland is underactive. An individual with an underactive thyroid would be diagnosed with ‘hypothyroidism.’ If the hypothyroidism goes untreated, your efforts to lose unwanted pounds will be seriously hindered.
When your thyroid is under-producing, you may experience a variety of symptoms, such as:
