12 Days of Wellness, Day 6: Eat More Organic Leafy Greens

Dark, leafy greens…that is!

Organic leafy greens, such as arugula, Swiss chard, spinach, kale and collard greens, are bursting with carotenoids, folate, chlorophyll and fiber.

What’s so significant about these nutrients? They have the ability to stop or slow the growth of some forms of cancer. These dark leafy greens are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that help remove free radicals from your body, keeping your cells healthy and cancer-free.

Try to enjoy at least one hearty salad per day to get in your daily greens. Be sure to top it with protein, such as chicken, and healthy fats, like olive oil and avocado, to really get the most benefit. Or, if you make daily protein shakes, you can easily add leafy greens to your shake to get in extra fiber and nutrients. You’ll never know they’re in there!
