12 Days of Wellness, Day 5: Swap Your Snack for Fruit

During this busy season, it can be far too easy to reach for something quick, easy and already prepared. Instead of reaching for cookies, chips or candy, train yourself to reach for fruit first. The fiber in fresh fruit helps aid your body’s digestive system while also helping you feel full without feeling bloated.

I recommend low sugar fruits, such as berries, apples and oranges to avoid a sugar rush. Fruits like pineapple, grapes and bananas, while delicious, are high in sugar, and therefore, can cause sugar highs and candida overgrowth.

Today I challenge you to think “fruit first” and go for the apple over the sweets!
