Detoxification For Weight Loss

With the new year comes New Year resolutions! Although achieving your ideal body weight is something we constantly strive for throughout the year, it is also something that can be incredibly difficult to achieve at times. Not only this, but sticking to a weight management program can be a huge challenge and test of willpower. Therefore, if you are one of the millions of Americans whose New Year’s resolutions include weight loss and fitting into that favorite pair of jeans, then the starting point is most definitely a well-balanced, clinically proven detox.
How do toxins contribute to weight gain?
External toxins that enter our bodies are stored in our fat cells. To an extent, this is a good thing because we need fat to protect our vital organs. But if there are too many external toxins entering our body, then there are too many toxins stored in our fat cells. These toxins also poison our metabolism and slow it down significantly, inhibiting weight loss. More so, toxins can cause quite a bit of damage to your thyroid gland. Your thyroid gland governs your body’s metabolic rate so when it is not functioning properly, neither is your metabolism. Additionally, toxins have been shown to inhibit leptin signals to your brain. Leptin is the hormone that tells when you’ve had enough to eat and makes you feel full. So when leptin signals are not triggered properly from the brain, what does this do to you? It means that you most likely feel hungry all the time, causing you to eat more food and more frequently when you typically wouldn’t.
Unfortunately, there are so many environmental toxins and poisons that we do not have direct control over. But thankfully, there are a few things you can do to minimize your exposure and to purge yourself of toxins on a regular basis.
