Why are several treatments needed?
Our hair grows in three phases:
- anagen (the active stage-when hair is actively growing)
- catagen (the regressive stage-when growth slows down and the root begins to die)
- telogen (the resting stage-when growth has completely stopped and the hair is fully developed)
For effective laser hair removal, the laser must strike the hair in the anagen phase. Because growth cycles can last from four to 6 weeks, there is only a small percentage of time that the hair is in the ideal state of growth.
